Join Region Uppsala's IT department to help build and manage a next-generation high-performance computing cluster supporting research and analysis activities. This role involves planning, setting up, and configuring the cluster's hardware and software, ensuring stable operation, automation, monitoring, and security.
Main requirements:
- Experience in Linux system administration
- Strong technical understanding of networking and system operations
- Experience in automation
- Ability to document and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Plan, set up, and configure the high-performance computing cluster
- Install operating systems, network configurations, storage solutions, and job schedulers
- Manage operation, automation, monitoring, and security of the system environment
- Collaborate closely with operations representatives and IT specialists
- Contribute to documentation, user support, and training materials
Required hard skills:
- Linux system administration

Recommended hard skills:
- Parallel programming knowledge
- Experience with GPU-based computations
- Familiarity with HPC storage solutions like Lustre or Ceph
